In a gripping volleyball match of utmost importance to the final standings in the LVA Men's Division 1B, BG Lions emerged victorious against KS Osemka 2, securing their fourth win of the season.

The sets were a rollercoaster of emotions, showcasing the competitive spirit of both teams. BG Lions started very strong and took the first set very comfortably with Osemka only managing 13 points. The second set started point-for-point and Osemka were in the lead by 14-16. At that point, a strong serving streak by Pablo took the score to 20-16 for our boys who went on to win the set 21-17.

The third set started equally point-for-point and the teams were tied at 15-15. Then, in the opposite turn of events to the second set, a strong serve streak by Osemka gave them a comfortable lead and they took the set 21-17. This gave the visitors extra strength and they won the fourth set comfortably 13-21, taking the game to a tie break. In a nail-biting finish, BG Lions emerged triumphant with a narrow 17-15 win, after missing one match point and saving another one.

Post-match, BG Lions find themselves in the 4th position in the league standings, with 4 wins and 4 losses, making them one win short of a playoff-sending second place. Osemka are a point behind with 3 wins and 6 losses, but also a game in hand.

Osemka game to be live streamed

Our club will be starting its 2024 home campaign with a headline event, featuring the online streaming of the men's game with KS Osemka on 17 February.
The aim of the headline event will be to raise further awareness of our club within the London volleyball community and popularise our website and social media channels which have undergone a fresh re-launch.
The game will be live on Facebook and the website, with first serve at 5pm and the stream starting 20 minutes prior.

The store was set up with the assistance of our kit and equipment provider Sports Way Management and features training tops, shorts and more! Each top garment can be ordered in any of our colours - green, red or white.
